About

About the blog:

Capitalism is in crisis. Its biggest enemy is itself. Its contradictions force governments around the world to enforce austerity measures, getting more money from the masses and redistributing them to the rich.

Living in this harsh socio-economic environment, many people cannot afford anymore to go out, at least not as often as they used to. An alternative means of entertainment that seems to be gaining momentum is home gatherings. People get together at someone's place and have fun chatting, eating, drinking, listening to music, watching films and so on.

The purpose of this blog is to suggest some alternative ways to have fun in these gatherings, mostly revolving around board games. Through our posts, you will find board game suggestions for various budgets and available time frames, as well as other classic activities suitable for home gatherings.

About the authors:

This blog is curated by the team efforts of four people:

Thomas studied physics and informatics and likes to dance. When he was younger used to rule the hotel industry. But time passed and the economic conditions forced him to change field of action and settle far away in an island called Catan! He is about to conquer this land but at the last minute unexpected things occur (flood from Konstantinas' glass, treacherous opponents-foulides appear) which prevent him to achieve victory.

Nefeli is a software engineer working on CRM systems. She prefers playing computer games, spending several hours a day on this thematic site, mostly the kissing category. She doesn't play a lot of board games because they are very hard. Her favorite board game is tic-tac-toe.

Elias wants to become a CEO. Therefore he has little time to play board games and we have to annoy him several times to get him to the table. He is eagerly awaiting for the release of this game. When it gets release, he is expected to annoy us continuously to be his opponents.

George (also known as foulis) is a naturally talented gamer that often wins (some people claim that he is just lucky). Constant whining of his opponents is one of the reasons he sometimes prefers playing computer games instead. When playing backgammon, he usually needs a large container to throw the dice into. Otherwise, the gameplay revolves around searching the floor for the dice.
